ISARD PHOTO

Although I have lived in the Redhill, Surrey area most of my life; imagine my surprise a few years ago when I received a photograph from Australia of a family of Isards that had lived in Redhill in the 19th century. The photo was dated 1886 and must have been taken in the back garden of their home in Redhill.

The photo consist of 11 people: George William Isard; his wife Martha Ann nee Smith and their 9 children. It was an absolute gem, I could not believe that this was taken less than 2 miles away from where I lived at that time and I received this photo from 12000 miles across the world.

It just goes to show that the history of our family is out there somewhere, all we have to do is find it.
